Description:
This '37 chevy custom flatbed truck has all modern chevy running gear. The heavy duty frame and rear end are from a 1970's 1 ton chevy. The front end is a '70's 3/4 ton 4WD disc-brake unit with leaf springs - narrowed aprox. 6".
The truck is set up with Air-Ride and on board compressor. Each corner operates separately. Four control valves with gauges set in a control panel are above the windshield at the headliner. A 5th gauge shows tank pressure. (See picture) A very good job was done in installing the Air-
Ride giving the truck the ability to set very low and yet have a soft ride at any height. The truck is capable of heavy cargo such as lumber, cars, ect. Just add air for heavy loads.
The engine is a keeper! A rebuilt 454 which runs great. It starts good even after sitting for months.
The transmission, a turbo 400 rebuilt with a shift kit, is mated to the transfer case. The Gennie Shifter is floor mounted beside the transfer case shifter.
An overdrive unit by Gear Vender makes this truack a sweet freeway cruzer and saves on fuel.
The truck has dual fuel tanks with separate gauges.
The dual 2 1/2" exhaust is a must see!
Dual battery set up or just run one - no problem.
The tilt wheel with column ignition is a '80's GM unit. The wiring harness is Ron Fransis.
The 14' bed of this truck is completely custom made with 1/8" steel diamond plate surface. The diamond plate box above the bed and behind the cab is fabricated with a lighter gauge to save weight. The under bed tool boxes are larger than any you will find. They were designed and used in the concrete service business for four years. The rear tool box extends the full width of the truck bed providing a great place to store things with long handles.
The truck has a very heavy duty hitch plus tow hooks up front.
The cab of this truck is actually a '38 which was the 1st year Chevy had an all steel cab. By changing the hood and grill it became a '37 Chevy.
The cab was chopped 2" but no worries, the floor board area on the drivers side was also lowered slightly and with the bucket seats the 6'1" owner has good leg room.
The fenders are widened aprox. 2 1/2" and the wheel well radius was changed to fit 16" wheels and tires.
The headlights were also lowered 2" for a lower look. The bumpers and bed sides on this truck were custom made by the current owner to give the truck a very custom look.
It needs interior work: TLC and touch-up painting, comfortable seats need re-upholstering. Exterior needs touch-up paint.
Price is negotiable.
